This is a confusing and sort of antiquated term that is generally being phased out. Technically, premenopause means the entire time in a shmirshky’s life before menopause, but that is a bit too broad to be useful. You might still hear it thrown around, but a lot of times it’s being misused as a substitute for the term perimenopause.
